When Our Ancestors Fight Against Our Light – From Imprisonment to Liberation.
Updated: 4 days ago

There are blocks to abundance that are passed down from generation to generation. They don’t even belong to us, and yet we feel their weight on our shoulders. Or do they run deep along our karmic path? And how does this manifest in our lives? Abundance isn’t just the material side of life, the flow of money, or buying this or that. It is the freedom to live your light and to create through it. To be able to live as your true self and build the life you choose. To simply experience the joy and wonder of life, with all its vibrancy and richness.
I’ll start with a true story...
I had a client who was preparing to receive an initiation for her liberation, and she was creating a power landscape on the floor with rose petals so I could activate it. Then the phone started ringing—it was her mother. Except that it was a landline and wasn’t even plugged in. She felt a shiver run through her entire body and a shadow fall over her aura.
Today, as I was exchanging messages with another client and friend of mine in Greece, she wrote to me: “There, during the eclipse, I felt it… I kept saying that I was trying so hard… but there’s something behind it… something that’s beyond my control.” She told me that her whole life she’d been struggling to clear the path to her abundance—something I know all too well myself.
It’s like trying to live your light, while behind you there are generations of people who would rather kill you than let you do it.
When we worked together on the issue of her own family lineage, she was shocked when she realized that, because she couldn’t truly live her Light—as she could have—she was fighting against seven generations of women who were literally cursing her so that she would never live her Light. That her fear of what was happening to her caused her to drift away and prevented her from putting down deep roots in the Earth—that is, from grounding herself and finding her center in this world. Of course, she later experienced the whole process of this liberation and how it opened her path. Of course, what this will mean for her life will become clear later.
That’s how generational curses work.
One more story… this time my own.
Before returning to Turkey, to Ephesus, I experienced a series of strange events: I lost my passports, was forced to change my tickets, and fell seriously ill. It’s very hard to see ancestors—both those who have passed away and those who are still with us, but whom you love so dearly—fighting against you in this way. Even if you know they’re doing it without being aware of what they’re doing.
When I finally arrived at my new home in Turkey after a month, I fell ill again the next morning. Trying to find a way to overcome my situation, I sought the help of a colleague who performed karmic releases and another who worked with the energy of the Sun, and also worked on releasing ancestral lines. It certainly helped somewhat, but it didn’t solve my problem. In my experience, the people we know can help us only to the extent that they have already liberated themselves—and no further.
The solution I was truly seeking came when I opened this Buddhist level, which dissolves generational curses.
But you hear me talking about generational curses, and I want you to understand what they are and how they work.
For many generations, women devoted their energy either to men or to institutions. These groups of female ancestors carry a heavy burden of unconscious and unprocessed emotions because they were unable to live as their true selves; they made countless compromises or suffered abuse in various ways. They did not dare to speak up or fight for themselves, partly because of inherited beliefs stemming from their family tree, such as that “a divorced woman with a child has no place in this society” or that “no one will look at her or appreciate her.”Or because the fear of physical abuse and the insecurity of ending up on the street, outside the community, with a child left them no other choice.
Have you seen all those elderly women who may not have children or relatives—or who do, but nevertheless bequeath their entire inheritance to churches? These women most likely never experienced what we call pleasure or passion—and I’m talking about creative passion here (not sexual activity)—nor did they have the right to ask for what they wanted or what they enjoyed. They did not feel they had the right to exist outside a man’s shadow, or they were constantly at odds with them. The joy of life or female sexuality were concepts absent from their vocabulary. The family line was their lifeline, even if it was the harshest prison. Can you imagine the magnitude of the rage and hatred that accumulates over generations of women who repeat and pass down to one another the same emotional and mental prison? Women who were unable to live their true selves, experiencing only certain aspects or fragments of who they truly were. This is what they taught their daughters as well: that things are unchangeable, that they have no choices, that they must endure and compromise. Thus, these chains bind generations of women to the same “curse.”
A mother who unconsciously resents or curses her own daughter may have been in a state of deep despair, having learned from her own mother that certain things, once they happen, cannot be changed—that they are irreversible—such as marrying an abusive man, especially if you become pregnant, for example.
This mother’s inner child perhaps felt that she didn’t even have the right to exist or to have an opinion of her own. When someone feels this way, they cannot bear the weight of responsibility for their own fate and seek to shift that burden—and the responsibility for what happened to them—onto someone else... Thus, such burdens are passed from parents to children, and the mother’s emotional prison expands, becoming a larger space of confinement for the daughter as well. This confinement can be further reinforced by influences outside the family system, as women who feel trapped tend to cede their power to religious institutions, among others.
In my field, these phenomena manifest as “generational curses”; they acquire immense power, essentially binding and trapping entire generations in the same energetic state, and this rigidity is, of course, expressed in life as well. If a mother reaches an impasse because she believes that certain things cannot be changed, her daughter may experience the same impasse at various stages of her life—even if she herself has chosen a completely different path. Or she may see her mother’s shadow weighing down her own relationships with the opposite sex, her happiness, her abundance, and so on.
Many women of my generation—and not only them—have walked the spiritual path, often without even realizing it, precisely to escape this: the ancestral burden, the karmic web. To find a cure for—and from—the lack of joy… to find a way to live freely. However, as you journey deep within yourself on this path, you realize two things:
that the only path to liberation is the one that leads inward, and that liberation and healing are collective states—they do not concern only us.
This is especially true of ancestral lineages;
We cannot move forward without setting our ancestors free.
We find our own freedom as we set the past free—not only our own personal past, but also that of those who came before us.
You may wonder, of course, how this is possible, given that some have already passed away. And yet, it can happen through specific energy work.
At some point, someone who possesses the necessary knowledge steps forward—usually the “black sheep” of the family. She becomes the liberator, acting without those around her even realizing the nature of the gift she is offering.
I have written about how, during this period, I opened up a space where deep ancestral issues are processed and resolved. After persistence, dedication, and faith, this was an unexpected gift—a confirmation that healing had come for everyone!
So then, yesterday, September 10, 2026—a date I’ve written down and marked for other noteworthy events—I saw my great-grandmother Olga—whom I don’t even remember, even though she was alive when I was born; I was just a tiny baby back then, perhaps one or two years old.
She was preparing to pass through a gate of light toward her liberation. The moment I lit my altar and blessed Jesus, that gate of light opened instantly! And then, my great-grandmother Olga stepped forward and began to speak to me:
“I prayed that one day someone like you would come and set us free. I always believed in you. I’m so proud of you.”
She thanked me for what I had done and departed for the Light. Other women followed her.
I felt a quiet joy; it was something like “it is finished.”
It was the confirmation of all the work I had done. And, most importantly, peace had finally come for them—and for me as well.
The spiritual path—the path of the evolution of consciousness—is not a straight line; it moves in circles. It delves deeper into the truth of who we are, and as it unfolds our true essence, it enables us to revisit—at a new level of depth—stories we have already worked through in the past. That is how the process works.
I pray that I have finally touched this particular depth of Liberation.
Generational curses are emotional, mental, and energetic prisons that trap entire generations in the same pattern, passing it down from one generation to the next, until a “black sheep” frees their ancestors from this situation in an effort to free themselves. Women create such prisons, and there is a common denominator among them: the unhappiness, bitterness, envy, and anger that stem from the inability to live as their true selves and to embrace their inner light. Often, their strength and creative energy are exploited to a great extent by men or religious institutions, or they do it to themselves—automatically and of their own free will—believing they have no other choice. These women end up hating one another secretly, silently, yet deeply and unconsciously, and wish the same fate upon the others. A perceptive observer sees chains linking them together.
Generational curses run through both lines: the female and the male—the maternal and paternal sides. They follow the path of karma, and when a soul incarnates on Earth and passes through the birth canal and the womb, it may automatically inherit them as part of its identity and as a condition of its birth into a specific family. This determines the contract the soul has with the mother and father—what we in my field call “Family Karma.” Usually, because at the root of every story lies our very self—and the deepest wisdom lies in the fact that we ourselves once chose to shoulder this enormous burden (we just don’t remember it)—these actions follow our deepest psychological trauma and are linked to the Chiron wound in our astrological chart.
This Buddhist level, where I work on issues of generational curses, resembles a Tibetan temple: it possesses the power of a hundred Buddhas and the wisdom to resolve such issues in all their breadth and depth. At the level where the intergenerational “curses” binding ancestral lines are dissolved, the healing is profound and multifaceted. The bonds of mental and emotional beliefs are broken for both sides. Our ancestors are set free and send their blessings; our path opens up and our lives expand. Our talents find new space to exist and be put to good use. Peace and light for all.
It is noteworthy—and I mention this here simply, or perhaps as a profound coincidence—that I opened this level during the same period that the devastating floods were occurring in Nepal. Notice how the element of water plays such a decisive role in our transformation during this period. It cleanses humanity’s collective unconscious on Earth. Whatever remains unresolved is passed down from generation to generation. Since water and our inner waters are one—whether we realize it or not—everything that is alive and everything that has ever happened exists in the memory of water.
When the coronavirus appeared a few years ago, I meditated to understand its origin or meaning. Then I saw an energy descending from the higher spiritual realms, passing through the summit of Tibet. I recognized an energy of unconditional love—very tender, yet at the same time imbued with immense power. I realized then that whatever happens will be for the awakening and liberation of humanity, no matter how strangely events may unfold on the earthly plane. And over the years, countless people have awakened from their conventional lives, broken free from relationships and situations that had run their course, and found light and courage where they seemed to be lost; they chose to follow a new path. Of course, some became even more deeply lost in their deep-seated traumas and made choices that cost them their light.
So, when this catastrophic flood occurred on the Tibet-Nepal border, what I saw was that, once again, an energy emanated from this sacred place that heralds a great transformation for humanity on Earth — a great purification once again, a way for us to realize the immeasurable weight of all that has a hidden life within us, both as humanity and as individuals.
Life on Earth has shifted to a new level and frequency—even if it doesn’t exactly seem that way—and it constantly calls on us to be present, to feel, to exist, and to live with awareness.
The healing is here, in the “here and now”
We are the healing.
We are here to set one another free and to lead one another back home.
If we realize this, we will put an end to this dark legacy that we pass on to one another here on Earth.
I know women who have never felt their mother’s love, or who have always felt it like a huge black cloud hanging over their heads.
Perhaps you, too, have felt the full weight—not only hers, but that of entire generations of women who had fully accepted a life from which they were absent...
You are the solution;
You are the one who will bring liberation.
Take the lead.
With love,
Alinea
